"I used to make an annual trip to a friend’s family hunting camp after hunting season with self directed projects. I had shot umbrellas in studio for client work and thought that I could see what I could do with a self directed assignment that would be so far removed from anything commercial. I focussed on adding mystery by embracing the November snowfall that was somewhat unusual and unexpected. The 6 images that formed the 3 diptychs were shot within about a 30 minute timeframe.
I had only brought Tmax with and it was a fortunate choice because I don’t know of any other film with such dynamic range necessary to maintain detail in the snow and black umbrella." - Mark

"Film has become my go to medium for capturing wilderness and landscapes because it allows me to stay more immersed in the experience and takes away the ability to immediately turn to editing and reviewing, which can ultimately be a distraction. These images were taken on a Mamiya 645 throughout the US Southwest on a week long road trip." - Jacob

Nate Bastin @_natebastin_ is a traveling film photographer. Images shot on #ektar100.
"I am grateful for any time I get to spend in the mountains, but there is something a little extra special about those long August evenings in the Rockies. The alpine scenery, the light, the weather, the vibes... everything just feels so right. That joy and awe that is present within me when I am out there with my cameras and a bag full of film is what I try to capture in my landscape photography." - Nate
