Renato Repetto is a photographer based in Japan. Images are shot on Nikon cameras and Tri-X film.
"Photography for me is a form of sketching; each photograph is a fresh sheet of paper.
For the last 5 years, Japan has been the subject of my photography and the place I've called home since 2019.
I enjoy photographing more rural parts of Japan such as Gifu, Aichi and Mie prefectures, also known as the Tōkai region.
They each have their own unique cultural aspects which I have come to embrace such as Gifu's charming post towns, Nagoya's "morning" culture or Ise's Grand Shrine.
When I'm not out photographing, I run photography and darkroom printing workshops in Tokyo and Kyoto as well as a membership program where I share my creative process and insights with those living abroad.
It gives me great satisfaction to help bring out the best
in other's photography."
