“I love shooting Portra because of the flexibility and how it handles dynamic, bright scenes. The color palette is also reliable and it aligns closely with my vision.”

“Twenty years ago, I completed an apprenticeship in a photo lab, where I learned all about the qualities of film. Since then, I've used film as the medium for all my work. I photograph amusement parks and so-called "happy sad places" around the globe. In my pictures, I showcase pastel-colored architecture, colorful rides, and unusual roadside installations and attractions. Soft colors from Kodak negative film and a calm composition are part of my visual identity.”

“I shoot film because I prefer tactile feedback with anything I do. Whether it’s photography, drumming or painting, I need it need it to be tangible.
⠀
Physically focusing a lens, aperture clicks, pushing a shutter release, the slap of a mirror, advancing the film, etc. all those little nuance’s…only analog can offer that, and try all they might, there’ll never be a substitute to shooting film. 0’s and 1’s simply can’t replicate a chemical process”

“What I like most about shooting film is how it forces me to slow down and really pay attention to my surroundings. With manual controls and a limited number of frames, it’s such a more intentional process than digital for me which I really enjoy.”
